Nestled in the heart of the Sacramento Valley, and located in the back yard of the Siller Helicopters headquarters, sits the Sutter Buttes. This range is often referred to as the World’s Smallest Mountain Range and is the pride of the area. SLC Inc. was faced with the challenge of adding three new antenna parts to top of a communications tower on the summit of South Butte, where the only way to reach the towers is by tram. Faced with this challenge, they called upon its local operator’s Sikorsky S-61 helicopter to precision-set the antennas. Using a long line and remote hook, Siller’s crew successfully mounted these antennas to the side of the tower.
